Cougars A.M. Links: Washington State News 4/30

Good Tuesday morning Cougs. An interesting weekend of drafting is over and Monday in the books, Marquess Wilson, Jeff Tuel and Wade Jacobson all have homes, at least temporarily. Of course Travis Long is still waiting for his phone to ring, we presume, with no news yet to come on where he might get his shot. I’m still a little miffed as to why he wasn’t picked up immediately following the draft, but that’s the stigma now days I suppose if you’re injured really late in the season. For Cougar o-lineman Wade Jacobson, it was a nerve-wracking 24 hours following the draft. The uncertainty, the insecurity, the improbability — it all had Jacobson an anxious mess. After a pain-staking night of thinking, his finally phone rang. The Washington Redskins wanted him, and he wanted the Washington Redskins.

More depth, more experience and more knowledge of coach Mike Leach’s system made this year’s spring football practice session more efficient than Leach’s first.

And while the Cougars have more answers than they did at this time last year, a few questions still remain, such as: who’s going to start at quarterback? And who’s going to protect him?
