Prediction & How He Improves Cougars in 2013:

I fully expect Nolan Washington and Damante Horton to come in and win the starting job. That doesn’t mean though that Brown wont get the opportunity to come in and compete for it.

The Coug secondary has been anything but good these past couple of years, and Brown shows that he has the skill set to come in and play right away. He tackles well on the edge, shows great natural instinct, and breaks extremely well on the ball, leading to a lot of pass break ups and interceptions.

If one of these returning corner backs shows any sign of struggling, I fully expect Brown to be the guy that gets thrown into the starting job. He will be our best newcomer, so the opportunities will be there for him. Worst case/best case for the cougs, Brown see’s limited action on defense, because the returners improved, and he mostly comes in on 3 to 4 corner back sets, and is an all star special team performer.
