Welcome to Apple Cup week everybody! It’s finally time to start the trash talkin’ and hope your team backs it up, as it pertains to owning the state of Washington for the next 12 months. It’s also time for some Apple Cup memories and of course, talking about our general and honest thoughts on both the Cougs and the Dawgs as we get ready for Friday (weird to say that on this particular week).

So the game is scheduled for the first time ever on the Day after Thanksgiving, due to the new Pac-12 scheduling implications. Kickoff is set for 12:30 at Martin Stadium in Pullman and will be televised by FOX Network. This is the 104th meeting between the teams, with UW holding a 67-31-6 lead in the series that began in 1900.

The game is very, very close to being a sellout as far as ticket sales go, but Washington just returned a couple hundred tickets and it’s unclear how many students will show up to the game, being that they will all be on Thanksgiving break and the time is set so early in the day. But it won’t change the emotion of the game, or the impact on each teams’ season. The Cougars are trying to jump-start their offseason so they can be competitive next season and the Dawgs are fighting for a better bowl game. Of course, both teams hate the other, so there’s that.

And we’re off! Go Cougs!
