Washington State Football GameDay Huddle: Arizona State Sun Devils

The Saturday’s have flown by and we’re only a week out from the end of the season. After all the controversy of this week and all the turmoil of the season it’s nice to think of a break, but at the same time it’s always nearly impossible for me to accept the end of the Cougar football season before the month of November is over.

You see, with the Mike Leach excitement and all the preseason hype, at this point I was planning on bowl game possibilities, everybody was. We’re supposed to be getting ready to trek somewhere warm and get an early Christmas present via some football joy. But alas, we’re stuck without hope of all that yet again. So our bowl game is next week and I guess we’ll just have to make that work.

Let’s talk quickly about today though. The Sun Devils have truly mauled our teams in Tempe over the last few seasons. It’s like a terrible curse has been instated and our teams are banned from scoring points in the heat of the Desert, and I think we all know that our team doesn’t wake up and play well at noon. But not today Cougs! Please, not today! This is an opportunity to begin our march back to relevant status. The team has really had to overcome some hurdles that we never saw coming this year, but it feels like a win today and then a win next week would almost make it all worth it.

So Win the Day for Crimson and Gray, guys. If you guys haven’t seen CougCenter’s preview with Yogi Roth of the Pac-12 Networks, give it a watch. Some great insight to the game, as well as what Leach is doing going forward, the similarities between Leach and Seahawks Coach Pete Carrol and where are Cougars are at on all levels of football right now.

Go Cougs!
